How to Select and Use a System to Grow Your Business
Every entrepreneur is directed to obtain an accounting system before or soon after they open for business often based on little or no information. Quicken, Quick Books and Peach Tree are often selected because they are lower cost and promoted as systems for non-accountants. Your first system can be a simple Excel spreadsheet system or a complex ERP. Some specialized Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems also provide basic accounting. QB Session VII: QuickBooks and Manufacturing Business
This workshop is for entrepreneurs, both with and without accounting backgrounds, who want to use QuickBooks for a manufacturing operation. This workshop is for entrepreneurs who feel they need to integrate manufacturing inventory, Bills of Material and Process Sheet Control in the business. The workshop is a hands on training where the workshop facilitator will answer questions and go through scenarios that are brought up by attendees and other workshops that are known to trouble existing QuickBooks owners.

Topics that will be covered:

  1. How do I define items to be under inventory control?
  2. How do I structure a bill of material?
  3. Ordering Inventory – how does inventory impact purchase orders?
  4. Receiving – how do I report the products I receive?
  5. Paying Vendor Invoices – does using inventory impact how to process accounts payable?
  6. Correct Inventory Errors – how do I correct errors, what is the impact on operating results?
  7. How do I report labor to parts I manufacture?

You will also be given a also be given a CD with all the support documents and reference materials for you to take home.
